TickerCheck is operated by M Morton, a sole trader, trading from Suite 1007, 22 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3JE, United Kingdom. M Morton is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@tickercheck.app.
We do not run a database. We hold no user table of our own. Your account is your email address and whether your subscription is active, and those live with Stripe, our payment provider.
There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no profiling anywhere on this site. We do not record which companies you research, and we never sell or share your data.
Your Anthropic API key is never stored. It passes through our server for a single request and is gone when that request ends.
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To sign you in by emailed link, and to identify your subscription | Performance of our contract with you |
| Subscription status (active, cancelled, payment state) |
To decide whether you may use the Service | Performance of our contract with you |
| Payment details | To take payment. Entered on Stripe's own page; we never see or hold your card number | Performance of our contract with you |
| Anthropic API key | Passed to Anthropic to run the analysis you asked for. Never logged, written to disk or retained | Performance of our contract with you |
| Session cookie | To keep you signed in for 30 days. Holds your email and whether your subscription was active when issued. Marked httpOnly so page scripts cannot read it | Strictly necessary for a service you requested |
| Server request logs (IP address, timestamp, URL, response status) |
Recorded by our host to deliver the site and protect it from abuse | Our legitimate interest in security and reliability |
We do not collect your name, postal address, date of birth or any other profile information, and we never ask for them.
One cookie, tc_session, set when you sign in and lasting 30 days. It is what keeps you signed in. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third party trackers, which is why you are not asked for cookie consent.
Separately, your browser's local storage holds your Anthropic API key only if you tick “Remember on this device”, plus a small local record of token counts used to show your usage figures. Both stay on your device, never reach us, and are removed when you clear your site data.
Four providers, each for one purpose. All are outside the UK and EEA, so transfers rely on the safeguards in their data processing terms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.
| Provider | What they receive | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Email, payment details, subscription record | Payments and billing |
| Anthropic | The ticker you entered, the analysis request, your API key | Running the analysis |
| Resend | Your email address | Delivering sign in links |
| Vercel | Standard request metadata | Hosting the site |
Public data used in an analysis, from SEC EDGAR, FINRA, the FCA and European Central Bank reference rates, is requested by our server using only a ticker symbol. Those sources receive nothing that identifies you.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to:
Email support@tickercheck.app and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU.
TickerCheck is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and will email you if the change is material.
